    About

    The Iowa Recycling Association is a non-profit organization with more than 375 members from across Iowa, representing individuals, businesses and industries, local governments, institutions, and organizations dedicated to a healthy environment and a healthy economy by promoting waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting.

    Formed in 1989, the Iowa Recycling Association:

    • is the voice of recycling in Iowa
    • provides a forum to learn about waste management issues
    • taps into and exchanges resources and information
    • positively influences recycling efforts in communities and workplaces
    • helps add value to recyclable material
    • helps create demand for recycled products


    IRA believes waste reduction, reuse, recycling and composting contribure to Iowa's sustainability.  By sharing information, educating ourselves and others, and cooperating IRA's members bring about positive change through recycling.
